Why i wish the Mersal to be its last kind.

It didn't surprise me at all when the BJP people started reacting to the Mersal movie dialogues.Because nowadays movies has to face problems than they deserve and somehow it becomes the part of the promotion.I haven't seen the movie by then. While watching the media debating on the 2nd day of Mersal release about those GST dialogues and wrong facts stated in the film, i thought lets see what Mersal has to say except those two lines.

Later that day they want the particular dialogues to be removed because the facts are stated wrong for which they(BJP) didn't expect this kind of support from the film supporters all over the nation which again became a promotion for the movie.

But, We all knew that demonetization and taxing didn't favor the common people or everyone. Especially demonetization process heavily criticized not just by the people but also by the experts like Mr.Raghu Ram Rajan. 

Okay. I watched the film the next or so and this is my reaction to the film.

Now i realize, Its not at all about those two dialogues but the whole film.

Lets put aside all the misstated, ill-logical sequences and dialogues Mersal has and that is something a lot and lot in the film.(starts from the airport first aid blood sucking scene and that continuous till the end of the movie).

I liked Raja Rani which is the debut of Atlee's despite the copycat topics. I really enjoyed it.

And i'm sharing this thoughts on Mersal just as a cinema lover.

 Mersal isn't the first film to have dialogues against the corrupted system. MGR, Rajini,Vijayakanth they've all done it before to state that the are qualified to become a leader.

Here Mr.Vijay wants to do the same and Mersal added itslef in the above list.

I wonder the motive behind such self promoting movies, whether it is to make people happy by showing impossible non realistic things done by the actor within a constructed set or to prove he could do such things if he got to rule?

The film makers want us to believe the later because they just know exactly how the people reacts to the movies especially in South India (except kerala in some cases).As they say we're sentimental idiots.We as the people who pour milk on lifeless cut outs believe in such a mighty way that  whatever an actor say/do on the screen could be accomplished by him when he got to rule(!).

This very idea is one and only the reason why they made Mersal.

 If acting in movies as Mersal makes Mr.Vijay qualify to  become a leader , i'd choose Mudhalvan Arjun for his immense performance in the film and i feel glad that movie done by him(despite the fact he isn't interested in politics) rather than who actually supposed to do.

First of all you can't put Mersal under a particular genre. Because 'Thalapathy' need to prove that he could pull a Ferris Wheel single handed but at the same time atlee muted the bgm where Nitya Menon died in thapathy's hands to add some realism. 

Either Mersal should've been a superhero type film where the protagonist has super powers or the film should've been realistic such as Visaranai if they really wanted to convey some message.

Instead of that atlee made an 2 hour corporate 'Ad-film' for Mr.Vijay with tonnes of lies as they do in some advertisements to sell their product. I'm calling it an ad by the casting the Mersal has.

 No one has any real purpose to serve in the film except Nitya Menon. They cast the film such a way to fill every character with reputed actors available just to make the film watchable. 

The mixed genre made it difficult to the mass audience to separate whats real and whats fake in the movie.People struggle to identify the difference and then somehow they fell in the trap which is exactly what they wanted.

Here atlee made it worse by selecting the Health Dept., to sell his film.And it seems like he  succeeded(sadly).

Atlee or Mr.Vijay could've get to know about our free medicine and how the TN has been an example to the other states in India. Today our people have no idea on how a pregnant women in Tamil Nadu get treated right from the 1st child - 2nd child till her family planing procedures.There are tonnes of stuff to celebrate but poor film makers couldn't sell those stuff.

"This is just a film. See as it is" Says some people. Dear people we live in a place where we need some actor/actress to raise awareness for any campaign(even to spread health awareness). 

In such a way Mersal depromotes the idea of cesarean delivery and health check up procedures blindly for their own campaign's success knowing the fact it could be misunderstood by some viewers.

The issues spoken in the film(like demonetization..) are already known and experienced by the viewers than the film makers in real life.We even suffered more than them.But yet we lose our minds as Mr.Vijay/Atlee are the whistle blowers.

The film is just same as the govt ad that runs during the interval except this version has the budget of 1.3 billion INR.

If fans got to say that the actor has guts to speak about corruption then they've better got some words to say about who are acting in reality.

If the actor has ideas to become a leader, he shouldn't be acting inside a set and shouting out fake punches. And i hope there will not be another mersal to brainwash people with pinky unicorn stories.

I wish the Mresal to be the last of it's kind of 'campaign' or whatever it is.
